Symptom: MGTC-20, DXTC-20, DXTH-20 – ERROR CODE E3

Solution: MULTIPLE SOLUTIONS

Cause: OUTDOOR UNIT COIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR FAULT

Remarks:

DESCRIPTION:

AC UNIT WILL STOP WORKING AND SHOW THE E3 ERROR CODE (ON INDOOR UNIT LED DISPLAY) WHILE THE OUTDOOR UNIT COIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR HAS AN OPEN OR SHORT CIRCUIT. IF THE SENSOR RECOVERS BACK TO NORMAL VALUE WHEN THE UNIT IS ON STANDBY, IT CAN BE SWITCHED ON DIRECTLY.

REPAIR:

1) CHECK CONNECTOR CN1 AND CN2 ON OUTDOOR BOARD:

SOLUTION 1) INSERT AGAIN IF DISCONNECTED (LOOSE)

2) MEASURE THE RESISTANCE OF THE OUTDOOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR: CN1 — (25? / 5Kê) TEST OUTDOOR AMBIENT /PIPE TEMP. SENSOR VALUE; CN2 — (25? / 20Kê) TEST OUTDOOR EXHAUST TEMP. SENSOR VALUE; (FOR THE OTHER RESISTANCE VALUE, PLEASE REFER TO THE TEMP–RESISTANCE SHEET):

SOLUTION 2) REPLACE THE TEMPERATURE SENSOR ASSEMBLY IF THE RESISTANCE IS NOT IN STANDARD LEVEL

3) IF THE TESTING IN 1) AND 2) IS NORMAL:

SOLUTION 3) REPLACE OUTDOOR PCB
