E9 IS A GENERAL FAILURE CODE OF COMPRESSOR DRIVING FAILURE, IT MAINLY MEANS IPM MODULE PROTECTION. WHEN A UNIT HAS IPM PROTECTION, IT CANNOT BE RECOVERED AUTOMATICALLY.
REPAIR:
***WIRING CONNECTION INSPECTION***:
1) CHECK THE SEQUENCE OF WIRING CONNECTION TO U(RED), V(WHITE) AND W(BLUE) ON THE COMPRESSOR:
SOLUTION 1) MAKE SURE THE PHASE SEQUENCE OF WIRING CONNECTION TO COMPRESSOR IS CORRECT
2) IS WIRING CONNECTION TIGHT?:
SOLUTION 2) INSERT AGAIN IF CONNECTION IS LOOSE
***SWITCH POWER OFF AND THEN SWITCH POWER BACK ON AGAIN, CHECK THE PROTECTION CODE***:
1) IF THIS CODE E9(P9) IS DISPLAYED WHEN THE COMPRESSOR HAS STARTED FOR SEVERAL SECONDS OR IT DID NOT START AT ALL, CHECK THE COMPRESSOR CONNECTION FOR CORRECTNESS:
SOLUTION 1) MAKE SURE THE WIRING CONNECTION ON COMPRESSOR IS CORRECT
2) COOLING/HEATING IS NORMAL IN THE BEGINNING, BUT FOR SOME TIME IT SHOWS E9(P9), CHECK THE BLINK TIMES ON LED1 OF OUTDOOR UNIT FOR FURTHER ANALYSIS:
2.1) BLINK 37 TIMES: CURRENT SAMPLING CIRCUIT FAULT:
SOLUTION 2.1) TEST VOLTAGE OF IC8 PIN-7, IT SHOULD BE: 2.5Vñ0.25V;IF NOT, REPLACE OUTDOOR PCB
2.2) BLINK 39 TIMES: OVERVOLTAGE PROTECTION:
SOLUTION 2.2) TEST VOLTAGE BETWEEN IC1 PIN-7 AND GND, IT SHOULD BE MORE THAN + 4.6V; IF NOT, REPLACE OUTDOOR PCB
2.3) BLINK 41 TIMES: IPM PROTECTION, DC PEAK OVER CURRENT PROTECTION:
SOLUTION 2.3) 1. INSPECT THE RESISTANCE R49:CHECK WHETHER IT IS BROKEN? AND 2. CHECK WHETHER IPM (Q1) IS BROKEN
2.4) BLINK 44 TIMES: OVER CURRENT PROTECTION FOR PHASE CURRENT:
SOLUTION 2.4) INSPECT THE RESISTANCE R49: CHECK IF IT IS BROKEN?
2.5) BLINK 47 TIMES: COMPRESSOR HIGH FREQUENCY PROTECTION:
SOLUTION 2.5) INSPECT THE RESISTANCE R49: CHECK IF IT IS BROKEN?
2.6) BLINK 48 TIMES: COMPRESSOR FREQUENCY FLUCTUATION ABNORMAL
SOLUTION 2.6) INSPECT THE RESISTANCE R49: CHECK IF IT IS BROKEN?
2.7) BLINK 45 TIMES: COMPRESSOR PHASE FAILURE PROTECTION
SOLUTION 2.7) MAKE SURE THE WIRING CONNECTION ON COMPRESSOR IS CORRECT
3) NO COOLING OR NO HEATING: CHECK THE WIRING CONNECTION TO COMPRESSOR:
SOLUTION 3) MAKE SURE THERE IS NO FALSE CONNECTION
4) THE COMPRESSOR RESTARTS IMMEDIATELY AFTER IT STOPPED, THIS MIGHT ALSO CAUSE E9(P9) PROTECTION BE THE CAUSE THE COOLING SYSTEM TO BE UNSTABLE:
SOLUTION 4) AFTER A LONG STOP, TRY TO START THE AC UNIT AGAIN
5) IF THE E9 ERROR CODE STILL REMAINS AFTER THE ABOVE INSPECTIONS, PLEASE REPLACE THE COMPRESSOR
